A very nice article written by Austin Merritt, Vice President of the software buyer’s guide Software Advice has been posted covering the Sage ERP products with several visual aides for seeing how they fit across industries and sizes of businesses. It’s a good primer on one of the largest makers of business software for the SMB market.

Bob Scott’s Insights, a publication of the Progressive Media Group, is pleased to announce that IncorTech has been selected as a member of the 2009 VAR Stars, a group of 100 organizations that are being honored for their accomplishments mid-marketing financial software.

Steve Birdwell, IncorTech founder and President, recently attended a semi-annual meeting with his Sage Leadership Academy Alumni peers in Dallas, Texas.

IncorTech has officially expanded it’s onsite services area into San Diego on the strength of sales of QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions and Oasis CRM, which compliments QuickBooks with features typically requiring investments too large to be practical in the current economic climate.

In an article about the business of accounting software in the current economy, IncorTech President and founder Steve Birdwell provides insight into how he turned sales around through marketing execution.

Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

“We [decided] we’re going to have to make it easy for our prospects to find us on the Web. If clients aren’t buying and suppliers like Sage and Intuit don’t give us leads, we have to generate our own.”

Aggressive growth requires companies invest roughly 15 percent of their gross revenue on marketing, Birdwell estimates, but Incortech was only spending 1 or 2 percent.

“Marketing was an event, not a process,” he says. “It was a matter of go grab a few leads and then stop to sell.”

The process had worked for the VAR up to that point, with Incortech earning top sales recognition for Sage’s MAS 500 product for several quarters. But now Birdwell needed to adapt to the fact that manufacturers in Southern California just weren’t shopping – at least not at his store.

You can get a chance to meet IncorTech President and Founder, Steve Birdwell at the CCH User Conference today through Wednesday, 10/29/2008 at the Mariott in Palm Desert.

Steve told me he really enjoyed speaking with other CPA’s at the show about Sage Software and the eProcess Manager solution for compliance tracking. Apparently, many firms have yet to get their audit systems compliant with regulations and need an appropriate solution.

So, if you’re in Southern California attending the conference, be sure to drop by the Sage booth and shake hands with Steve.  I promise he won’t bite!

Welcome to the all-new!  After weeks of work, we’re finally live.  Its been great to give the company’s logo and site a fresh, new look.  I think we were cramming way too much information into every page and that the new site is a lot more user-friendly.
